AMORE & VITA – PRODIR will ride on JORBI bicycles for the next two seasons

Jorbi’s a Portuguese brand founded by former biker Jorge Baeta.

Amore & Vita – Prodir will race in the next two seasons on Jorbi bikes.

Jorbi was born in 2009 from an idea of Jorge Baeta, Portuguese businessman who has been involved for 14 years into the world of motorcycles (Motocross, SuperCross, Speed and finally Marathons of which in 1996 he became National Champion of the category 125cc.).

Then, in 1997 moved by passion for bicycles, he founded the company Vieira Graca starting to distribute in Portugal very prestigious brands including Bianchi (since 1999).

In 2000 he created one of the most important “Mountain Bike” teams in Portugal, Team Baeta, with whom, in five years, he obtained more than 50 victories and 15 national titles in different categories. In 2005 he started supporting for the first time a pro cycling team, the Clube Ciclismo de Tavira, winning the Volta a Portugal in 2008 and 2009. This is how the “Jorbi” project started and took form, and from this point Jorge Baeta has thus created its own brand of bikes named JORBI.

In 2010, 11 and 13, Jorbi continued to win the “Volta a Portugal” and gained tremendous visibility at national and international levels. The Jorbi factory is located in Abrantes and can boast a direct production and painting line. Jorge Baeta personally develops his frames, following the spirit of the competition that has always been present from the beginning.

Currently, Jorbi is dedicated to the production of racing bikes and mountain bikes of medium and high range, with its own distribution network in Portugal and Spain, but with a clear goal of growth in the creation of new agents in other countries.
With this important partnership with Amore & Vita – Prodir, Jorbi makes a huge leap in quality in pro cycling and begins with enthusiasm to be part of the history of the oldest professional team in the world, led by the Fanini family.

The athletes captained by the “couple” Celano – Ficara will use the top frames of the Jorbi range, that is the Supreme (very light and suitable for climbers), and the Dominus, with more aerodynamic lines and greater stiffness. All bicycles will be made in Portugal and customized with the team’s social colors (check the photos). The group sets will be Campagnolo, with RaceOn components and wheels and the saddles will remain Selle SMP, an Italian brand among the world leaders in this field that has been successfully working alongside A&V for over 14 years.

Jorge noticed us this year at the Tour of Portugal where we achieved excellent performances and results. Then at the end of the year we spoke also thanks to the excellent work of our new D.S. Vlady Starchyk, and it was easy to find a valid agreement – explains team manager Cristian Fanini – I want to thank Jorbi for the trust and I’m sure we will repay them with numerous successes. Our goal is to return to win in Italy after a sensational 2017 and a 2018 below expectations but also the Volta a Portugal will be an important goal for our team to exploit at most of the Jorbi brand. We are confident and optimistic because we have created a team that is on paper way stronger and motivated than the past and projected to a great future if even a bit of good luck will be on our side”.
