“Cachorro el Pitbull” takes off an outstanding double win in his hometown, while the rest of the team will be challenging the great condition showed in Spain at the Etoile de Besseges in France.
Just right after the important Tour of San Luis, Argentine cycling keeps living another spectacular stage race in the streets of the capital Buenos Aires with the 84th edition of the DOBLE BRAGADO. A very important and historic competition for the Argentine and in general for all South American cyclists. And immediately there was a fantastic start for the U23 Pan American champion of Amore & Vita – Prodir, Federico Vivas, who took the win in the first two stages.
‘Cachorro el Pitbull’, so they call him in Argentina, who is taking part in this race with the Argentine national team selection, has asserted his powerful sprint, winning both stages with a clear supremacy. Therefore, Federico Vivas is now leading the GC and even the points classification and āmost aggressiveā classification.
“We started in a really great way, and we couldnāt ask nothing more from this seasonal beginningā comments from France (where the team is waiting to take part at the Etoille de Besseges) the Sports Director Vlady Starchyk. āIn Mallorca, among the big names in world cycling, we ended up growing and enhancing our shape and we brought home an important 6th place with Moncassin. Now from Argentina comes this wonderful news of the double success of Fede Vivas, and thatās awesome! Although the race in Argentina may appear a bit easier, I can assure that it is not that way. Actually these victories deserve a lot of consideration because cycling in South America is interpreted with a particular mood and there is a fighting spirit and an extraordinary agonism. Then, this race is felt inside in a very special way by the Argentines, since itās an event with 84 years of history and tradition, so we are proud of these first two seasonal wins. That said, there will still be several opportunities for Vivas, and we are sure that our ‘Cachorro’ will not disappoint us. After this race Vivas will fly to Italy and we will see him in action here too and he will certainly be an added strength, very useful to our team. I can guarantee that with Moncassin and Freuler in the sprints this year we will have a lot fun and weāll achieve many satisfactions“.
Meanwhile, the athletes of A&V – Prodir are ready to āfightā in France in the Etoile de Besseges (four stages scheduled from tomorrow February 7th to 10th) with a Moncassin in great shape and with the rest of the riders determined to shine and give the maximum every single day. At the start of the race there will be: Marco Bernardinetti (ITA), Danilo Celano (ITA), Pierpaolo Ficara (ITA), Jan Freuler (SUI), Viesturs Luksevics (LAT), Max Moncassin (FRA), Iltjan Nika (ALB).
