Marco Tizza joins Amore & Vita – Prodir

The all round athlete will be a very precious reinforcement for A&V - Prodir

Born in 1992 Marco Tizza is definitely suited for the one-day races. He is very strong all round and arrives in Amore & Vita – Prodir after a season full of prestigious results with Team Nippo – Vini Fantini.

He scored 278 UCI points, all of them obtained in high level classics. And he has demonstrated that his value’s still in continuous progress.

As anticipated, in terms of results the 2018 racing season of Marco Tizza was almost sensational.

In addition to the good performances in World Tour races such as Milan – Sanremo and the Giro di Lombardia, this pro rider achieved the 2nd and 4th place at Vuelta Burgos (2.HC Spain); then, another 2nd place at the Volta Limburg Classic (NED 1.1); a 3rd at the Trofeo Matteotti (ITA 1.1); a 5th in the Tour of Tuscany – Memorial Alfredo Martini (ITA 1.1); and a 9th at the Marco Pantani Memorial (ITA 1.1).
But we must also mention the placements in the top 15 in other great races, such as the 11th place at the Coppa Sabatini (ITA 1.1); same result obtained also to the Adriatic Ionian (ITA 2.1) and at the Tour of Korea (KOR 2.1); and at last but not least the 12th and 13th place in the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana (ESP 2.1).

All results that need to be added to those other important ones obtained in 2017 , like the 6th place at the Coppa Agostoni (ITA 1.1) and various other results in the top 5 at the Sibiu Cycling Tour (ROU 2.1), Volta a Portugal (POR 2.1) and Ronde de l’Oise (FRA 2.2) .

Despite these important performances, as often happens unfortunately, even for Tizza was impossible to find a spot in a team that would allow him to take part in a Great Tour. However, we look at the glass half full, so definitely this condition is not to be considered a setback but a real restart. In some aspect it’s only a very small step backwards in order to be able of making soon two huge steps forward. At Amore & Vita – Prodir he will find a very different environment, probably more suited to an athlete by its skills and certainly, with the greater freedom he’ll succeed in obtaining his first professional victories.

“We’ve got in touch just few days ago – explains enthusiastically GM Cristian Fanini- he explained me his situation and his desire to seek an immediate redemption with our jersey. But in my opinion more than that, Marco will go to a season of great confirmations at the highest levels. I know very well his qualities and I can say that he has always impressed me for his consistency in performance and his way to be very humble (which is a rare thing to find today), so in a few hours we found an agreement. In addition, I know that together with Ficara and Celano, we will have a very formidable threesome in the team that will surely bring us many amazing satisfactions. So now we are doing the countdown for the season to start. As a team we are looking for a consistent redemption but together with my staff we have built a solid squad suitable for all types of races that we will take part. There are many talented cyclists into the roster and the new staff is really determined and full of enthusiasm. Now we just have to start on the right foot and stay focused and hungry for the entire season that on paper promises to be exceptional, even hoping for a bit of luck that never hurts “.

The team has set the 2019 debut in Spain at Challenge Mallorca from January 31st to February 3rd, while Marco Tizza will be lined up for his first race in Italy on February 17th Marco Tizza at Trofeo Laigueglia.
