Federico Vivas is known as the “Pitbull“. He rides and wins always chewing a match, just as the famous gunslingers of the western movies of the director Sergio Leone.
Argentinean from Buenos Aires, the 22 year old Vivas is a pure sprinter and is the U23 Pan American Champion in charge. After the arrival of Moncassin and the reconfirmation of the Swiss Freuler, AMORE & VITA – PRODIR will be able to count on a very high quality set of sprinters for the 2019, a skill in which the team was a bit lacking in the last season after the disappointing season of Latvian sprinter Bogdanovics. But this year with the head coach and supervisor Alessio Di Basco the team will surely reach a step forward in terms of results.
In 2018, in addition to the Panamerican Championship, Vivas has obtained 15 successes between Argentina and other South American countries, and was strongly wanted in the team by the new D.S. Volodymyr Starchyk, who returns to lead the team after the 2018 break at team Trevigiani of former cyclist Mirko Rossato.
«Vivas has been a Trevigiani trainee last season and he has put himself in good evidence at every race he took part at – explains Cristian Fanini – Starchyk has great confidence on him and has convinced us that he was what we needed. Some say that he’s is a “crazy head” but we are used to dealing with particular challenges and Vivas is our big bet for 2019. Anyway his pure talent is not discussed. Then, his tests are really impressive and the margin of improvement is even bigger. So we are very excited to welcome him in the team, where he will play a very important role regardless of his young age. Finally I want to add that we are betting on an Argentine after almost 30 years. Argentina is a country very close to our family, since part of the Fanini’s family still lives in Argentina. The first Argentinean cyclists arrived in Italy thanks to my dad and his uncle Ivano in the 70’s and 80’s in the team Fanini Mobiexport. The first professional Argentineans have passed through the colors of Amore & Vita in the 90’s, I can remember the most important as Daniel Castro, Alexandre, Benvenuti, Trillini, Mateseva, Frossasco and Haedo so for us it’s definitely a great satisfaction to be able to line up in our roster a new talent coming from this nation».
